Subject: Light Relief for People from Christchurch from Chris Brittenden
Hi
This is what I’ve been working on for the past couple of weeks. It’s a website that gives Christchurch residents access to huge discounts from tourist attractions and the odd free entry. It is support of a different kind, a sort of light relief. I noticed what a difference a holiday away made to friends of mine from Christchurch. Operation Smiles supports this and aims to give people from Christchurch better holidays so they will feel recharged and ready to face life post earthquake upon their return home.
It is in Northland and Auckland so far and I’m working on expanding it nationwide. It will be a long term project.
The link is:-
http://www.operationsmiles.org.nz
To kick start it I have found sponsors to donate an entire competition. The winners will be up to 2 adults and 2 children – but it can be a couple or individual and friend anyone from Christchurch can be nominated to win Five Days of Fun in Auckland and Northland.
I need your help to spread the word as we are just starting to publicize this and need the word to spread so people in Christchurch can make use of this project and one lot of them win the holiday. An article was supposed to be in the Christchurch Press today or tomorrow about it and it was on ZB Christchurch with Mike Yardley. Lots more promotion to go!
Please email this onto anyone/everyone that would be relevant to, especially family and friends in Christchurch who can use it and anyone throughout New Zealand that may want their tourism attraction to participate.
And nominate any Christchurch people you know that should be our winner. They are nominated via the Win Five Days of Fun link on the website.
And all the people in Christchurch that receive this can you please forward this email onto mates and family and get nominating. Frankly some people have nominated themselves and that is completely fine as well.
The prize is for a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children, and includes:
• Return flights from Christchurch to Auckland, compliments of Air New Zealand.
• Two nights luxury accommodation, donated by SKY CITY grand hotel, Auckland.
• One family pass to the Sky Tower, donated by SKY CITY, Auckland.
• Two nights seaside accommodation at Seabreeze Studios, Mangawhai Heads donated by Bede Brittenden (thanks Dad!)
• One complimentary family pass to MOTAT donated by MOTAT.
• One complimentary family pass for a harbour cruise and / or / both Waiheke Island, donated by Fullers.
• One complimentary family pass on Whale & Dolphin Safari donated by Explore NZ.
• One complimentary family pass to the Auckland Zoo donated by The Auckland Zoo.
• One complimentary family pass to Hot Pools donated by Aquatic Park, Parakai Springs.
• One surfing lesson for up to 2 adults and 2 children donated by Muriwai Surf School.
• One complimentary family pass to Wood Hill Forests tree adventures donated by Tree Adventures.
• 5 days of complimentary rental car donated by Hertz.
• Plus additional access to all other Operation Smiles attractions, at discounted rates
The more people that know about it and use it the bigger I can grow it so thank you for passing this on and for any nominations that you put forward. Feel free to email any comments and if you want to add a link to any appropriate website that would be great.
Cheers
Chris Brittenden, (Chrissy, Christine and so on!!)
