Mt Pleasant War Memorial Community Centre
Mt Pleasant Memorial Community Centre Rebuild
The Mt Pleasant Memorial Community Centre was established as a War Memorial Hall in partnership between the Government, Christchurch City Council and the Mt Pleasant Community in 1954 was destroyed by the 6.3 earthquake which struck Christchurch on 22 February 2011. The epicentre was located approximately 2 kms from Mt Pleasant.
The Association, after working closely with the Mt Pleasant community and those of surrounding suburbs to understand the current and future needs of our area, commissioned Chris Moller of CMA+U Architecture to design a facility to meet today’s needs for a community building. We seek to build back our much loved community centre and create a vibrant heart where people are what matters most. Leighs Construction have been contracted to rebuild the centre and the target completion date is April 2016.
If you would like to contribute to our Rebuild fund you can find all the information you need to do this here.
