The Mt Pleasant Farmer’s market sprang into life only a few weeks after the February 2011 quake. With no supermarkets or local shops to buy food, Farmer’s Market organiser Tom Davies quickly filled the gap by establishing the market on the grounds of the Mt Pleasant Memorial Community Centre, 3 McCormacks Bay Road. It has been a great hit with the locals and many further afield ever since.
On the 5 March 2013 the market celebrated its second birthday!
