Do you need a local baby sitter who has had experience with children? Aug 2015
My name is Caitlin and I am an 18 year old University student living on Mount Pleasant hill. I adore children and have just recently finished my job as a ‘fairy’ at Cheeky Monkeys, a children’s party venue that was located in Ferrymead. I attended Mount Pleasant school myself when I was a child so Mount Pleasant hill is a familiar place for me. If you are after a local, experienced baby sitter then do send me an email, i’d be happy to organise something! Thank you! Email: firstname.lastname@example.org

Mt Pleasant Farmers Market Information stall
We have an eight week long revolving roster for volunteers to help on the Mt Pleasant Farmers Market info stall. This takes 1.5 hours every eight weeks and involves passing on current information, selling products such as honey and other fundraising items. Good for people who like to connect with others and enjoy a good chat.
Pleasant News deliverers
Each deliverer has a route of around 100-150 houses. Generally involves about 1.5 hours quarterly. Good for people who don’t mind a bit of hill walking for exercise. Newsletters dropped to your home.
This role involves baking on a 6-8 week roster (depending on number of volunteers) and if able assisting the coordinator with setting up Cup of Tea by the Sea. Costs reimbursed. Homemade baking is a great feature of Cup of Tea which is an event aimed at delivering community information while connecting with each other over a cup of tea. Mondays 10am to 11.30am. Occasionally we also get other calls for baking such as community celebrations.
We would like to start a list of active volunteer drivers who could match up with residents without transport who would like to attend occasional events at the centre or who for example need a ride to the local doctors.
Those who enjoy weeding and spraying
We have had quite a call lately for people who like to weed public spaces for projects like McCormacks Bay Reserve enhancement project, the Port Hills and the Coastal Pathway (causeway). Additionally, there are a lot of exotic weeds around the hills which are invasive and need to be got on top of.
If you would like to help with any of the above please contact Linda on firstname.lastname@example.org
I am the co-ordinator for a volunteer work team called the ‘Eastenders’ and we work on the walking tracks on the Port Hills (the east end typically….) . Mostly retired, we have a working bee on the second and fourth Monday of the month and work from 9am until 12pm. We are looking for new recruits to join us and help with the maintenance and building of tracks. Anybody who would enjoy a few hours of work and socializing would be welcome. Please contact Paul Tebbutt on 384 3086 or email email@example.com for further details. 16 April 2013
