Hatha Yoga classes for beginners & intermediate Yogis, 75 minutes, intuitive and gentle with a challenging edge for healthy expansion. The sessions will also include a deep relaxation at the end. Maja is a certified and registered yoga teacher (RYT200) with Yoga Alliance.

Vinyasa Yoga

Over the 10 week term, we will flow through the 5 elements of yoga. We will begin slowly and steadily, before building sequences with more heat and flow–  our aim is to sustain this grounded yet fluid energy that resides in all of us. You will leave each practice feeling grounded, nourished and energized, allowing you to incorporate this same focus and strength of mind to every aspect of your life.

At Christchurch South Shotokan Karate Club, we operate under the guidance of Japan Karate Shoto-Federation (JKS) Shotokan style of Karate. We train with traditional methods to develop and create an effective martial art, emphasising speed, strength, power and a range of techniques for every part of one’s body. It is NOT sport karate.

Cup of Tea by the Sea is a community-wide morning tea held at the Mt Pleasant Centre. Come along for a cuppa and chat. Speakers usually arranged for the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month (excluding public holidays).

Mt Pleasant Playgroup

We are back downstairs in the hall – lots of space to run about!

Playgroup is now running from 9.30am – 11.30am – come and stay for a long or little time as you like!

Come and enjoy a relaxed play with our lovely toys in the hall in the Mt Pleasant Centre. Try out the dress-ups, musical instruments, put together some puzzles or zoom around on the ride on bug. 

All pre-schoolers and their caregivers are welcome, entrance by koha. Playgroup runs every Thursday in term time.

Flow Yoga with Annepoyoga

Vinyasa (flow) yoga classes focus on mindful movement and breath.
For one hour let yourself be guided through a very complete cocktail of sun salutations, standing, balancing, sitting, backbending, twisting, strengthening, lengthening and restorative yoga poses followed by a well-deserved time of relaxation.
You can expect the classes to be powerful and challenging yet gentle and compassionate with your body. The classes are appropriate for beginners as well as those with an ongoing practice.
