Meet the makers and browse all the stalls at the Mt Pleasant Art & Craft Market. Always warm and dry no matter the weather - the market is held in the hall at the Mt Pleasant Community Centre.

PINK RIBBON BREAKFAST

Join us for our third annual fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Foundation. 

We'll be serving a beautiful breakfast from 7.30am at the community centre. Tickets are $30 and all proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Foundation to help them achieve the vision  of zero deaths in Aotearoa from breast cancer. Their work encompasses early detection education, supporting those with breast cancer, research grants and advocacy.

If you have any special dietary needs we should know about, please let us know when purchasing your ticket. 

Tickets are available from the Front Room Cafe now. The cafe is open 6 days a week 8.30am - 2pm and eftpos is available.

Speaker's Corner

We are introducing a new community event called “Speaker’s Corner” starting in April.

It will be held on the last Wednesday of the month and will usually be an evening event (7.30-9pm).

 

It is an opportunity for our community to meet, listen, learn and discuss interesting topics from interesting people.

One Stitch at a Time

Craft Group

This friendly group meets every Thursday from 10am - midday. Group members practice a creative and diverse range of craft which include quilting, cross-stitch, hexagon patchwork, knitting, crocheting, and plant dyed blanket art, plus more.

Got An Idea?

We are always looking to host new community groups. If you have an idea you'd like to try out for a club or regular group get in touch with Kathy here. We can provide the venue as well as support with promotion and admin related to your group. If you have a community not for profit group that is open to members of the public and looking for a home, we may be able to help with that, too. 

Mt Pleasant Singers

All are welcome to join this community group sing along. Nothing required apart from an enthusiasm for singing together! Meeting in the hall the last Thursday of each month at 1pm – 3pm. We sing a range of tunes and are accompanied by a pianist and ukuleles.

All singers very welcome in cafe for $5 soup lunch from 12pm.

Mt Pleasant Walking Group

Mt Pleasant Walking Group meets every Tuesday and Thursday morning, departing from  the Community Centre car park at 9:30am. Walkers are welcome to walk either or both days to suit individuals. Walks cover a wide range of areas, providing hill and flat options.  A medium level of fitness is required.  Most walks are up to one and a half hours and conclude with coffee at a nearby cafe.

New Parents Coffee Group

There's nothing like having friends in your neighbourhood who are going though many of the same things you are - especially if you have just welcomed a new baby into your life! We see so many new parents in the community centre and want to help you make connections with each other. 

This group meets from 10.30am - midday on a Thursday.

Interested in contributing time & sweat to our community garden? If so, join Jocelyn at the weekly working bees Thursdays at 10-11.30am. You can find the newly established Mt Pleasant Memorial Community Garden between the community centre and the kindy.
